A rarity match is a starting point, not proof that a particular egg appears in the tracker. September 26 Volcanic Egg reports say Eternal Radar does not point to that new Ethereal target. If Volcanic is your goal, read the live target board and the Volcanic route report before buying Eternal solely for it.

2. Follow the current activation prompt

Open the Gears shop, inspect the listed target tier and price, and buy one radar only after you know what it is supposed to find. Check your inventory or tool slot and follow the current on-screen activation control for your device. Pro Game Guides describes equipping and activating a purchased radar; the older community page describes different toggle behavior, so this guide does not promise an exact duration or reusable charge.

Before riding away, confirm that the tracker points to a target in your session. If it does not, check whether the egg is currently on the map, whether the displayed radar tier matches the egg and whether a new update changed the target list. Do not spend repeatedly on the same assumption without a visible result.

3. Turn a signal into a completed hatch

Mark the direction back to your ranch before following the signal. A radar can help locate an egg, but it cannot solve a cave exit, a ledge or a full nest. Make one empty-handed pass through an unfamiliar obstacle, then collect only when you know how to leave.

At pickup, read the actual egg label and any break warning. Return immediately to an empty nest, then note whether the radar led to the intended target and whether you completed the hatch. If the target changed or the return failed, your next purchase decision should address that specific failure rather than a higher rarity by default.
